Since 2012, the Helix project has investigated what makes systems engineers effective. This research culminated in Atlas: The Theory of Effective Systems Engineers. The Helix team expanded to look more closely at the organizational factors that influence systems engineering as a discipline and the delivery of effective systems engineering capability.
The Helix team is launching the first version of the web-based self-assessment tool for individuals. Systems engineers can conduct self-assessments on proficiency. The tool allows the individuals to create their past, present, and future proficiency profiles. Tracking proficiency over time creates insights into growth and targets for development. This tool also enables users to tailor their proficiency models to fit their working environment.
Coming soon, the tool will add capabilities for tracking and visualizing career path information over time.
